I got around to measuring suspension travel with the sway bars out, because that’s an important thing...that I totally needed to do...

Anyway, front went from 6.3 inches tire to fender gap to 11 inch fender gap. so 4.7 inches of drop from neutral and...presumably...4.something inches of compression on the other side. ~9 inches of flex travel. But that’s not spring limited or shock limited, its radius arm limited. The shocks and springs both have more to give and the springs weren’t in coil bind or on the stops.

In the back i went from 5.9 inches to 16 inches for a total of of 20.2 total inches of flex from center. This one is spring limited, im in coil bind on the compressed side, but the unloaded side still has spring tension to keep is seated.

I don’t think either of those numbers are meaningful except to say that the rear can flex about 2x as much as the front. so...neat I guess.

I should measure the GX, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I would guess about half.

Now, enjoy the best seat material for the best chimichanga ever.

I finally found the Land Cruiser I’m going to hopefully get, just waiting on them to replace the timing chain before I buy it.

I’m super excited,  I’m hopefully picking up a land cruiser tomorrow. It’s been a long time coming but I think I’ve finally found one I actually want to buy.

Your having them do the chain? Interesting. I'm still in my original with no real worries. What year?

Just had it inspected and the only thing of note was surface rust on the undercarriage, but otherwise it’s a super tight truck apparently. I’ll post pictures when I pick it up tomorrow!

Sweet! No worries about surface rust on the chassis.  Just throw some fluid film on it every now and again and call it good.

Yeah, the truck spent most of its life in canada  so I was expecting that type of rust, but other than that the thing is immaculate. 152,000 miles but only one owner. I’m not sure what options were available but it seems pretty well optioned out.

It’s an 06, they recommend it every 90k miles for the 100 series, not sure about the 80s. It has just shy of $260k on it, it’s close to perfect inside and the outside has just enough imperfection so I won’t feel to bad about some light wheeling scratches and scrapes.

Sounds awesome, I’m in the process of picking up an 06 Land Cruiser myself, very similar condition to yours, but 2 owner and 260k miles.

Another 06. The 2nd new one in this thread even. Yeah the belts on the uz need to be changed every 90k. Same with my gx470. The 80 and 200 series have chains that are, more or less, lifetime.

How do you like your GX? I looked at them, but I just want the little bit of extra room that the LC has. I plan on using it for road trips with my daughter and small off road adventures for now, maybe more in the future. I also don’t have anything to transport my 4 dogs in currently.

I like it, its no 80 series, in good and bad ways.  its smoother, faster, quieter, more pleasant to be in, but it doesn’t feel nearly as unstoppable off road.  its a good family vehicle though.
